SHAKATA - Carnavan (BR, IT, IL, AR)

SHAKATA is all about bringing the carnival to town and getting the party started! This truly international band, with members hailing from three continents, will take you on a transatlantic dance-filled journey, from the Balkan peninsula to the beaches of Brazil and everywhere in between. The band formed at Berklee College of Music Valencia, and immediately became known for their fun and funky repertoire and high-energy live performances. Drawing from the cultural and musical roots of each member, the ensemble concocts a bold mixture of fiery Balkan-inspired melodies, inflected with Arabic Maqam contours and Klezmer flavors, over driving drums with Brazilian grooves, topped off with Psychedelic Rock edge. It's an unorthodox and flavourful groove that keeps the party rocking!
